Betty Yvonne Tedder Smith, age 89 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Bolivia. She was born on March 1, 1936, in Columbus County to the late Charlie G. Tedder and Rosa Bass Tedder and was the wife of the late Major Graham Smith, Sr.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Smith Norris. Betty was the last survivor of her immediate family, preceded in death by six siblings, Charles Wayne Tedder, James Audell Tedder, William Delane Tedder, Christine Tedder Case, Eloise Tedder Marker and Mona Faye Tedder McLelland.
Betty was a lifelong member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church in Whiteville, NC. Before her retirement she dedicated 32 years working with Truist Bank.
She is survived by her son Graham Smith, Jr. of Whiteville, daughter, Sherrie Smith Harkins of Ocean Isle Beach, grandchildren, Heather Norris Weavil(John), Michelle Smith Rogers(Nick), Gregory Norris, Jr.,(fiancé Danielle), Byron Smith(Courtney), and seven great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, 31 Pleasant Plains Church Rd., Whiteville, NC 28472.
