Jimmy was a man of great intelligence; Upon his graduation from high school, Jimmy attended Wake Forest University for a short time, then joined the National Guard for two years before joining the Navy. In 1993, Jimmy retired from the Navy as an Electronics Mechanic Foreman to answer the call to ministry. It was then that Jimmy attended Fruitland Baptist Bible College, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in ministry; he went on to serve many churches as Pastor, never ceasing to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Jimmy loved God, his country, and his darling wife. He will be missed by many but there is great peace in knowing he is where he longed to be- his heavenly home.
To cherish his memory, Jimmy leaves behind his wife, Bertha Williams Strole of the home and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends; and his best friend, the neighbor’s dog named “Bell”.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare or to New Hope Baptist Church.
