
The man who allegedly caused a deadly crash near Silver Spoon is facing felony charges.
Patrick Dillon Pendleton, 39, of 507 Forest Dr., Bladenboro, is being held without bond in the March 17 death of Savannah Lowry. 39, of Lumberton. Pendleton was charged by the Highway Patrol with felony death by vehicle, possession of opiates, driving while impaired, reckless driving, speeding, unsafe passing, and unsafe tires.
The wreck occurred on N.C. 410 near Silver Spoon Road, Sgt. K. McVicker of the Highway Patrol said.
Trooper J. Faulk of the Patrol reported that Pendleton was heading north on N.C. 410 when he passed another vehicle in a no passing zone.
Pendleton’s 2020 Hyundai then collided head-on with a 2006 Toyota SUV driven by Lowry. A 2026 Chevrolet van driven by John Barber, 45, of Kenansville then rear ended Lowry’s vehicle. It was the third fatal crash on county roads this year.
Pendleton was transported to Novant New Hanover with injuries sustained in the crash.
