One suspect has been charged in Sunday’s shooting death on Powell Boulevard in Whiteville.
Kapri Omar MacMillian, 32, of 414 W. Main St., Whiteville, was arrested this afternoon (Tuesday) on a charge of murder. Chief Paul Rockenbach of the Whiteville Police said other suspects are still being sought.
Jaquez Cribbs, 19, was shot to death Sunday on Powell Boulevard in Whiteville Sunday around 9 a.m. His bullet riddled car continued north on Powell to Washington Street, where it collided with another vehicle. Cribbs later died in an area hospital.
Rockenbach praised his investigative team for their non-stop work on the case, and thanked the Columbus and Robeson sheriff’s offices, as well as the State Bureau of Investigation for their assistance.
