Detective Bitten by Dog During Fugitive Chase

Logan Seth Fowler (CCSO)

Authorities captured a wanted man in Bolton Wednesday after a brief foot chase that left one detective with a dog bite.
Seth Logan Fowler, 24, is being held under no bond in the Bladen County Detention Center. He is charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, and misdemeanor resisting and officer in Columbus County. Bladen deputies charged Fowler with possession of meth and buprenorphine, drug paraphernalia, fleeing to elude with a motor vehicle and multiple traffic violations, along with possession of a firearm by a felon. He was also charged with a probation violation. His address was listed on court documents as 60 Walt’s Lane, Hallsboro.
Detectives were conducting surveillance in Bolton along Loop Lane when they spotted a vehicle connected to Fowler, according to a press release. When they approached the vehicle, “multiple dogs aggressively confronted the detectives” and one of the detectives was bitten. He was not seriously injured.
Fowler ran from the vehicle, and detectives saw a firearm fall form his pocket. The handgun was secured, and Fowler was captured after a brief struggle, the release said.
Fowler was arrested in December on a charge of harboring a fugitive after he allegedly assisted Raymond Timothy “Chinaman” Warren. That case involved a stolen camper trailer.
In February, warrants show Fowler allegedly had a Smith and Wesson handgun in his possession when he fled from a traffic stop initiated in Bladen. That chase involved the Highway Patrol, Columbus and Bladen deputies.
The surveillance was part of ongoing intensive patrols by the Criminal investigative Division (CID). Columbus Sheriff Bill Rogers praised the CID team “for their tireless efforts to pursue justice.
“Thanks our law enforcement partners at Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina State Highway Patrol Troop B District 5, and North Carolina Probation and Parole, for their ongoing collaboration. The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to removing violent and repeat offenders from our communities to ensure the safety of all residents,” Rogers said in a press release.
