May 31, 1943 ~ April 7, 2025 (age 81)
Nora Batten Fore, age 81, of Whiteville, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side on Monday, April 7, 2025. Nora was born May 31, 1943 in Columbus County to the late Irvin Batten and Lula Duboise Batten. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son; Robert Neil Fore, Jr.
Nora was in the 1961 graduating class of Nakina High School. She worked for 18 years as a secretary for Columbus County Emergency Services.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband; Robert “Bobby” Neil Fore, Sr. of the home, daughter; Pamela Ann Fore of Wagram, NC, brother; Frank Batten of Thomasville, NC, grandchildren; Ashley Corcelius, Robbie Cribb, Randi Harper and Xander Fore, and 6 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Chris Hardee officiating. Burial will follow at Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm prior to the service.
