Here’s today’s Bottom Line:

Today’s report is going to be short and sweet because there’s not much to talk about in the weather world.

Worsening drought conditions throughout the work week as dry high pressure remains largely in control. As the high pushes offshore late tonight, temperatures quickly rise to above seasonal normal values for the second half of the week.

Our next rain chances come Friday afternoon into Friday evening as a cold front crosses the area. This will be in the form of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Model guidance is in pretty solid agreement that we’re not going to get much rain from this system on Friday, with model blends showing average rainfall less than a tenth of an inch through May 6th. That’s not good when looking at it from a drought standpoint. With each passing day the situation becomes a little bit worse.

Dry weather and (slightly) cooler temperatures can be expected for the Strawberry Festival weekend.

Here is your Freedom Insurance Today-plus-Five Forecast:

That’s going to do it for today’s report. As always, thank you for reading and for supporting Columbus County News. Have a great day!
