Here’s today’s Bottom Line
There really is not a whole lot to talk about in the weather department for the next several days.
Unfortunately it’s a progression of very dry conditions and worsening drought as no rainfall is expected through the coming weekend.
This afternoon will be particularly of concern for fire weather as our relative humidity drops to between 20% and 30% with north winds around 10 mph.
A strong ridge of high pressure both at mid-levels of the atmosphere and at the surface will be the driving force for our weather. This “stacked high” will move virtually overhead tonight and Thursday allowing good radiational cooling tonight — lows early Thursday will be in the lower 40s (if not perhaps 39-41 in some spots).
The high pushes offshore late Thursday and gets anchored well offshore through the weekend allowing a southerly flow of much more humid (and warm) air to pump northward into ColCo. This will result in highs deep into the 80s through the holiday weekend. It wouldn’t surprise me if we break the 90-degree mark on Saturday, though I put “87” on the graphic. A weak “backdoor front” may drop down from the north late Easter into Monday but we really won’t notice much other than lower humidity levels for Monday.
Easter Sunrise church services across ColCo can expect clear skies with temps in the lower 60s. If you’re worshiping at the beach, however, expect much more humid conditions with temps around 70 early Easter morning.
There is a *slight* chance for some rain Monday or Tuesday next week according to some of the model guidance. I’m not too impressed with the way it looks, though, so we’ll just have to watch and see.
