Deputies had respondd to a disturbance call at 1833 Clarendon Chadbourn Highway around 1 a.m., the report said. A deputy parked his Dodge Charger on the shoulder with the lights on, and got out to respond to the disturbance call.
That was when he noticed a silver Dodge truck, driven by Deloreta, backing toward his vehicle. The driver ignored verbal commands to stop, the report said.
Deloreta struck the rear of the vehicle, then moved about 30 feet down the road before stopping.
“The driver… admitted to consuming alcohol and acknowledged she should not have been driving,” the report said. “She also admitted to striking the patrol car.”
The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Deloreta was charged with damage to personal property, and released on a $1,000 secured bond.
