One man was charged with discharging a firearm in the city limits and another told to stay away from a Tabor City home after an incident May 21.
Tabor City Police Lt. J. Grainger reported that he was called to 507 Stake Road around 4:15 p.m. to a domestic dispute involving weapons. John Long, a resident of the home, said Billy Chappell had gone to the property to see his stepdaughter.
When Chappell exited the vehicle, the report said, Long noticed he was carrying a firearm on his hip. Long retrieved a shotgun and “shot a round off into the dirt,” at which time Chappell left the property, the report said.
Grainger said he contacted Chappell and advised him not to return to the property. Long was cited for discharging a firearm in the city limits.
