When talking about the great athletes that Whiteville High School has produced, a multitude of names pop up. About every sport in the school has had an All-American, professional athletes, N.C. Player of the Year, All-State and other accomplishments. The number of names of all these people would make your head explode.
But just when you think you have seen the best come out of Whiteville, another one comes along. In this case, it may be the greatest athlete the Wolfpack Nation has ever seen — Serenity Harvey.
She is the 2025 N.C. Track Athlete of the Year and a seven-time State Champion Gold Medalist. She will attend Mt. Olive this fall to continue her track career while majoring in Physical Therapy. I recently had the honor of sitting down with this young lady and talk to her about her life and future.
