Deputy Hurt as Saturday Chase Ends in Charges

The Tennessee suspect who ran from deputies and troopers is facing multiple charges after a wild chase down N.C. 120 Saturday.

Justin Graham, 38, of Crossville, Tenn., was charged with driving while impaired, fleeing to elude arrest, reckless driving. No operator’s license, a seatbelt violation and resisting an officer. Additional charges are pending, the sheriff office said. His bond was set at $1,500 secured.

The sheriff’s office reported that Graham was stopped by the Highway Patrol and pulled to the shoulder of the road, then fled. He allegedly drove off-road but was stopped when an officer performed a PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique) on the suspect vehicle and disabled it, stopping the vehicle pursuit.

Graham then fled the car on foot.  An officer used a Taser on Graham, the report said, but the device was not effective. A deputy sustained a fractured hand during the pursuit of Graham.

Traffic was delayed around the scene near N.C. 904 and while Graham was taken into custody.
