A Williamson Road man was severely beaten by an unknown assailant Friday, then dragged in to a wooded area and left.
Dep. S. Lee reported that the sheriff’s office responded to a call about an assault Tuesday just before 2 p.m. The report said Arnold Nance, 70, was being loaded in an ambulance when deputies arrived.
Nance told deputies he was assaulted Friday night in his home. He described the assailant as a slender white male, approximately six feet tall, with light brown or sandy blonde hair and a beard.
“Mr. Nance stated the suspect severely beat and stomped him, stole cash from his wallet, and left him in a wooded area near his residence,” the report said.
Nance was transported to Columbus Regional due to the severity of his injuries, the report said. The investigation is continuing.
