The Town of Fair Bluff will hold their Annual Watermelon Festival on Saturday, July 26. The day will begin at 7:00 a.m. with watermelon contest registration and vendor setup. Alyssa Strickland will sing the ‘National Anthem’ at 8:55 a.m., and the parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. Full list of festival events.
The City of Whiteville is encouraging residents and business owners to sign up for the Alert Whiteville system. Floods, storms and other real time emergencies such as water outages are delivered straight to your telephone or email. To sign up for the free service, go to the city’s website and click on the community tab.
A Conway SC couple and a Florida woman have been jailed on charges of prostitution, drug sales, conspiracy and robbery. Hector Luis Mercado, Carlie Alexis Turner and Julie Aguilar are all being held under secured bonds.
