The second inmate has died at Columbus Correctional in less than six months. Quashaunn Shuford, 31, was found unresponsive in his dormitory just after midnight Thursday.
Someone opened fire on a car near the intersection of Lewis and Madison Streets just before midnight Friday. Whiteville Police are investigating.
