Detectives Watch Drug Sale, Arrest Dealer

Detectives arrested a Chadbourn man after observing him make an alleged “hand to hand” drug transaction July 16.

Rymeek Ziquan Freeman. 18, of 315 Huffman St., Chadbourn was held under no bond, according to detention center records. He was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, sale of drugs within 1,000 feet of a park, maintaining a vehicle and paraphernalia. Freeman was held without bond because he was on release for unrelated charges at the time, the report said.

Detectives observed the transaction in the parking area of Food Lion in Chadbourn. He was allegedly selling a substance that later tested positive as crack cocaine.

Vice-Narcotics investigators were monitoring the area when the transaction occurred. With the assistance of the Patrol Division and H.E.A.T. Unit, the suspect was apprehended, the report said. Detectives seized drugs and cash related to the sale.

Freeman was arrested in November on two counts of possession of a weapon of mass destruction, possession of a stolen firearm, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, and resisting an officer, according .
