
Another suspect is in custody after the July 5 gunfight that nearly injured a toddler in Whiteville.
Qhandarion Gaddy, 22, of 1571 Red Store Rd., Whiteville and 81 Renee Lane, Chadbourn, is being held under no bond on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm into occupied property, discharging a firearm in the city, and failure to appear. Gaddy was processed into the Detention Center just after midnight, according to jail documents.
Gaddy is one of a group of men who fired more than 100 rounds in the Brookberry Apartment complex during the early morning hours of July 5, Whiteville Police said. Four apartments and several vehicles were hit as two groups of men exchanged gunfire, causing thousands in damages.
Bullets tore through the wall of one residence just inches from where a toddler was sleeping.
