Tropical Storm Erin has formed on the Atlantic, and is expected to become the first hurricane of the season. The National Weather Service is urging folks to plan, not panic. Now is the best time to make sure your emergency plans are together. Decide now if you and your family will evacuate, and know where you’re going and how to get there. Check your emergency kit – you want food, water and medicines for yourself and your pets for three to five days. Make sure you have batteries and chargers, and your devices stay charged. Fill your vehicle tanks. Ensure you have cash available, in case ATMs and card readers are down. Clean your gutters and ditches, have a plan to protect windows, trim and remove tree limbs that could cause damage. Secure any outdoor items.
Bladen County narcotics investigators arrested a Rosindale man after several weeks of looking into drug sales in the Lisbon area. Harrelson is being held under $100,000 secured bond. He allegedly had a sawed off shotgun, psilocybin mushrooms, methamphetamine, pot and other narcotics investigators when he was arrested his home when he was jailed Aug. 7.
