
East Bladen’s Lady Eagles volleyball team went to West Bladen hoping to give West Bladen an upset Wednesday, but the Knights declined the offer, defeating the Eagles 3-1.
West Bladen pushed their record to 5-0 with scores of 25-17, 19-25, 25-9, and 25-15 for the victory. The Lady Eagles fell to 0-6 on the season.
After a first set defeat, the Eagles showed life in the second set, jumping out to 5-1 lead. The Knights rallied to put the score 12-11. East then scored five straight to put it 17-11 before finishing off the Knights in the second set, 25-19.

West then proceeded to jump out 12-4 in the third set and cruise past the Eagles for the third set, 25-9. East Bladen showed life early in fourth set leading 9-4, before the Knights roared back to finish off the set and match 25-15.
Halaina Conklin had six kills to pace West Bladen. Jaylen Clark chipped in five kills, two blocks and an ace. Mekenna Thurman posted six kills and Natalee Sykes had 12 assists. The Eagles were led by Taylor Dowless with kill kills.
The Eagles will play host to Hobbton (3-1) on Thursday. The Knights take on Heide Trask (4-2) today at Rocky Point. In the J.V. match Wednesday, the Eagles defeated West Bladen 2-0 by scores of 25-23 and 25-19.
