
DUBLIN — The West Bladen Knights took all three sets from Union in a non-conference volleyball match Wednesday.
The Knights defeated the Spartans by scores of 25-11, 25-17, and 25-9. The Knights now go to 6-1 on the season.
Emmy Bryant paced West Bladen with six aces and five digs. Kali Allen contributed three aces, three kills, and five digs. Greer Pope had 13 assists and three aces, while Natalee Sykes contributed three aces and five assists. Union (2-7) was led by Abigail Gargia with six aces.
The Knights will go to Whiteville (1-5) next Tuesday (Sept. 9) to open conference play. Union host East Columbus (5-1) on Thursday.
East Columbus Sweeps County Rivals
LAKE WACCAMAW — East Columbus beat a pair of county rivals this week in volleyball.
The Gators defeated West Columbus 3-0 on Tuesday and beat South Columbus on Wednesday 3-0 by scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-23.
East Columbus will go to Union on Thursday. West Columbus falls to 0-6 on the year and 0-2 in the Carolina Conference while South Columbus goes to 3-5 overall.
