Tabor City – South Columbus saw an early special team play and lead all go for nothing as the Pender Patriots rolled past the South Columbus Stallions 62-29 Friday night.
State Supreme Court Justice Paul Newby announced today that he is assembling a task force to tighten pretrial release conditions. The group will take a deep dive into unsecured bond, release conditions and other issues. The effort is in response to the national outcry over the August 22 murder of Miss. Iranya Zarutska by a convicted felon on a light rail. Legislators next week will discuss Iranya’s Law, a bail reform package being presented by Speaker of House Destin Hall.
