Grissettown-Longwood Fire Department will be opening their haunted trail for another season of spookiness every Friday and Saturday evening from 7-10 p.m. during the month of October and from 7-10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, for Halloween night.
Tickets are $20 per person, and you can get yours by calling 910.287.3030 or by visiting www.grissettownfire.com. The station can be found at 758 Longwood Road in Ocean Isle Beach.
Southeastern Community College, the HEARTS Foundation, and Columbus County Parks and Recreation are teaming up to present their Trunk or Treat on Thursday, Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the SCC. There will be costume and trunk contests, games, food, candy, and lots of fun at the event.

When you’re done grabbing all that candy at SCC, take a little five-minute trip down the road to the animal shelter for some more goodies and furbabies. Columbus County Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services will be joining in on the Halloween fun in the name of animal adoption this year. ‘A Nightmare on Paw Street’ will take place on Oct. 30 from 7-9 p.m.
You and your family can have a ‘pawsitively’ good time with a furry friend to take home. There will be music, games, food with no tricks and all treats. APS is located at 288 Legion Drive in Whiteville.
Premier Living and Rehab Center in Lake Waccamaw will have their Trunk or Treat on Oct. 30 from 5-8 p.m. There will be free hotdogs, a bouncy house, and lots of candy. The facility’s address is 106 Cameron Street.
The West Columbus Parent Teacher Organization will be having a Trunk or Treat at West Columbus School on Oct. 31 from 5:30-7 p.m. There will be candy, voting for your favorite trunk, a costume contest, music, and family fun. The school is located at 7685 Andrew Jackson Highway SW in Cerro Gordo.
CPHC Ministries will host a fall festival with a trunk or treat, chili cook off, hayride, slides, and free food on Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. The church can be found at 518 North Elm Street in Chadbourn.
Hallsboro residents will have their annual Trunk or Treat on Friday, Oct. 31, at the Bogue Community Park from 4-7 p.m. There will be plenty of food, music, candy, and fun. Antioch Baptist Church will have their fall festival on Friday, Oct. 31, from 5:30-8 p.m. There will be a cake walk, trunk or treat, hayride, games, and food. The church is located at 1463 Antioch Church Road in Whiteville.
Abundant Life Assembly of God is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. at the church. It can be found at 5384 James B. White Highway South in Whiteville.
The Chadbourn Church of God will have a Trunk or Treat on Friday, Oct. 31, at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome. The church’s address is 126 Kinlaw Drive in Chadbourn.
Columbus County DREAM Center and the Columbus County Library will host trick or treating in the Children’s Department of the library on Oct. 31 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The event is open to kids and teens 17 years old and younger. The library is located at 407 North J.K. Powell Boulevard in Whiteville.
The entire town and businesses of Fair Bluff will be presenting a community trunk or treat on Friday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m. There will be food, candy, games, and plenty of fun for everyone. Kona Ice and Ana’s Tacos will be on location with their food trucks, and the Fair Bluff Police Department and Columbus County Sheriff’s Office will also be participating.
If you plan on decorating a trunk for the event, please make sure it’s not scary and be in place by 5:30 p.m. Halloween evening. The festivities will all be held at Riverside Drive.
Trinity Baptist Church will have ‘Trunks of Treats’ on Oct. 31 from 5 p.m.-until. The church is located at 201 South Thompson Street in Whiteville.
The City of Whiteville will have their Halloween Bash on Oct. 31 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. There will be hayrides, candy, face painting and so much more. This event is sponsored by the Whiteville Police Department and Whiteville Fire and will be held at City Hall located at 317 South Madison Street.
The Veterans Memorial Park of America will have a trunk or treat on Friday, Oct. 31, beginning at 6 p.m. The park’s address in 6354 James B. White Highway South in Whiteville.
Ward Station Church of God will be hosting a trunk or treat for the community on Oct. 31 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. There will be a hayride, free hot dogs, and lots of candy. The church is located at 5478 Rough and Ready Road in Chadbourn.
Liberty Commons has moved their trick or trick on Halloween, Oct. 31, from 4-6 p.m. to the Shoreland facility. The family-friendly event will feature candy stations throughout the grounds, costumes of all kinds, and a best costume contest with prizes. Shoreland can be found at 200 Flowers Pridgen Drive in Whiteville.
Folks in on the west side of the county have another opportunity to trick or treat and fellowship across the state line in Loris, SC. Capture Inc. Community Center will have a fall festival and trunk or treat on Oct. 31 from 3-6 at their Child Development Department. There will be inflatables, music, food, candy, and lots of fun. Capture is located at 4350 Spring Street in Loris.
The Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina at Lake Waccamaw will have a trunk or treat in the parking of the BGHNC Chapel on Oct. 31 at starting at 3:30 p.m. Civic groups and other organizations are still needed to set up trunks at the event. Clarkton Fire Department will present a trunk or treat on Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. at the station. CFD is located at 205 Peach Street in Clarkton.
Union Baptist Church will have a fall festival on Nov. 1 from 12-4 p.m. There will be food trucks, vendors, games, music, face painting, a Bible lesson, and a pumpkin patch. The church can be found at 2290 Old Northeast Road in Lake Waccamaw.
Hallsboro Baptist Church will host a fall festival the day after Halloween, Nov. 1, from 6-8 p.m. There will be a chili cook off, games, prizes, fellowship, and a bouncy house. The church’s address is 551 Hallsboro Road South.
