Grissettown-Longwood Fire Department will be opening their haunted trail for another season of spookiness every Friday and Saturday evening from 7-10 p.m. during the month of October and from 7-10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, for Halloween night.

Sandy Plain Baptist Church will have their fall festival Oct. 22 from 6:30-8 p.m. There will be food, a cake auction, and trunks of treats. The church’s address in 6824 Swamp Fox Highway East in Tabor City.
Bladen County Public Library will host a Trunk or Treat at the main library branch on Oct. 24. Donations of candy is now being accepted. The library can be found at 111 North Cypress Street in Elizabethtown.
The Downtown Whiteville crew will have their annual adults only costume party on Oct. 24 from 7-11 p.m. at Vineland Station. Join them for a night of frights and delights with a costume contest, food, drink and music. The cost is $10 per person. The venue’s address is 701 South Madison Street in Whiteville.
Whiteville Alliance Church will have a trunk or treat on Friday, Oct. 24, from 6-8 p.m. There will be candy, face painting, a cake walk, and hot chocolate. The church is located at 623 Warrior Trail in Whiteville.
The Town of Chadbourn will host at trunk or treat event at Town Hall on Oct. 24 from 4-6 p.m. Any local business is welcome to attend and promote themselves. Bring business cards, candy, and any other goods that might interest a crowd.

The Hallsboro Church of God will be having their Trunk or Treat on Oct. 25 from 5-7 p.m. There will be games, candy and face painting. The church is located at 312 Giles Byrd Road in Hallsboro.
The Town of Lake Waccamaw will have their annual Safe Night on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 6-8 p.m. at Elizabeth Brinkley Park. Get your costumes ready to have a great time.
Anyone who would like to set up a booth or trunk or treat spot is asked to contact LWPD or LWFD. The park is located at 90 Bald Cypress Circle in Lake Waccamaw.
The Columbus County Farmers Market will have their very first ‘Haunted Market’ on Oct. 25 from 5-9 p.m. Bring the whole family for a spooktacular evening filled with trunk or treating, haunted ATV rides, delicious food, local vendors, a car show, and lots of fun for everyone. There is no entry fee for this event. The market can be found at 132 Government Complex Drive in Whiteville.

The Clothes Bin of Whiteville will be have a spooktacular Halloween party on Oct. 26 from 5-7 p.m. Trunk or treats will be set up for the kids, and there will be food and lots of family fun. The store can be found at 134 West Main Street in Whiteville.
Western Prong Baptist Church will have ‘Trunks of Treats at the Prong’ on Oct. 26 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Trunks will be loaded down with treats, there will be hot dogs and s’mores to eat, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee truck will be there, and a hayride will be set up for everyone to enjoy. Southeastern Community College, the HEARTS Foundation, and Columbus County Parks and Recreation are teaming up to present their Trunk or Treat on Thursday, Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the SCC. There will be costume and trunk contests, games, food, candy, and lots of fun at the event.

When you’re done grabbing all that candy at SCC, take a little five-minute trip down the road to the animal shelter for some more goodies and furbabies. Columbus County Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services will be joining in on the Halloween fun in the name of animal adoption this year. ‘A Nightmare on Paw Street’ will take place on Oct. 30 from 7-9 p.m.
You and your family can have a ‘pawsitively’ good time with a furry friend to take home. There will be music, games, food with no tricks and all treats. APS is located at 288 Legion Drive in Whiteville.

The West Columbus Parent Teacher Organization will be having a Trunk or Treat at West Columbus High Columbus on Oct. 30 from 6-7:30 p.m. There will be candy, voting for your favorite trunk, a costume contest, music, and family fun. The school is located at 7294 Andrew Jackson Highway in Cerro Gordo.
CPHC Ministries will host a fall festival with a trunk or treat, chili cook off, hayride, slides, and free food on Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. The church can be found at 518 North Elm Street in Chadbourn.
Hallsboro residents will have their annual Trunk or Treat on Friday, Oct. 31, at the Bogue Community Park from 4-7 p.m. There will be plenty of food, music, candy, and fun. Columbus County DREAM Center and the Columbus County Library will host trick or treating in the Children’s Department of the library on Oct. 31 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The event is open to kids and teens 17 years old and younger. The library is located at 407 North J.K. Powell Boulevard in Whiteville.
The entire town and businesses of Fair Bluff will be presenting a community trunk or treat on Friday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m. There will be food, candy, games, and plenty of fun for everyone. Kona Ice and Ana’s Tacos will be on location with their food trucks, and the Fair Bluff Police Department and Columbus County Sheriff’s Office will also be participating.
If you plan on decorating a trunk for the event, please make sure it’s not scary and be in place by 5:30 p.m. Halloween evening. The festivities will all be held at Riverside Drive.

The City of Whiteville will have their Halloween Bash on Oct. 31 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. There will be hayrides, candy, face painting and so much more. This event is sponsored by the Whiteville Police Department and Whiteville Fire and will be held at City Hall located at 317 South Madison Street.
