Calls and messages about suspected drug behavior led to an investigation and two arrests by the sheriff’s office in Tabor City this week.
Kavin Rudolph Jordan, 35, of 163 Sandy Place Drive, was held under $125,000 secured bond, charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, maintaining a place for drug activities, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, according to detention center records.
Warrants show that Jordan had a 9 mm. Hi-Point handgun when he was arrested. Jordan was previously convicted of trafficking in opiates in 2023, and sentenced to two years and eight months in prison.
Johnny Lee Green, 46, of 488 Soles Cemetery Rd., Tabor City, was charged with possession of cocaine. He was held under a $1,500 secured bond.
The sheriff’s office said in a press release that the CCSO received multiple complaints about suspicious narcotics activities at Jordan’s residence. Vice-Narcotics Detectives initiated an investigation into the reports, using both surveillance and undercover operations.
On Sept. 9, the sheriff’s office special operations Division, HEAT members and Vice-Narcotics Detectives executed a search warrant on the home. The press release said deputies seized narcotics and other evidence.
