
ELIZABETHTOWN–East Bladen overcame an early two touchdown deficit and two turnovers to beat the Clinton Dark Horses 26-20 on Friday night.

The Eagles (3-1) were led by Jaden Lewis, who had 194 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries. Things started rough for the Eagles as they started their first drive with a fumble at their own 30 yard line. Four plays later, Clinton took advantage of the miscue when Miles McCallop hit Aaron Cooper with a seven-yard TD pass to give the Dark Horses a 7-0 lead with 8:45 left to go in the first quarter. The Eagles got the ball and gave it back to Clinton on a stalled drive. Eight plays later, Clinton scored on a seven-yard run by Cooper with 2:01 left in the first quarter to make it 13-0 Clinton.
The Eagles finally got on the board with a nine-play drive, capped off by a four-yard run from Dashon Campbell. The two-point conversion failed and made it 13-6 Dark Horses. The Eagle squad continued to tighten things up with 2:46 left going into the half, when Jaden Lewis found the end zone from seven yards out to make the score 13-12. The score was 13-12 at the half.
The Eagle continued with the momentum in the second half when Nayshaun Jones recovered a fumble and returning it to the Clinton 31-yard line. Jaden Lewis scored four plays later from 13 yards out to give the Eagles a 20-13 lead with the two-point conversion at 4:48 left in the third quarter.

The Eagles got the ball back early in the fourth after a stalled Dark Horse drive and Lewis took the ball 77 yards to the house, putting East Bladen up 26-13 with 10:34 left in the fourth quarter. Clinton responded with a five-play drive, ending with a Gavin Miller nine-yard run for a touchdown to put it 26-20 East Bladen with 9:13 left in the game. After a couple of punts , Clinton had a chance with the ball and 1:27 left on the clock at their own 20 yard line, but the drive stalled out as the time ran out.
