Hobbton Downs East Columbus 35-6

NEWTON GROVE— Isiah Williams rushed for two touchdowns to lead Hobbton past East Columbus 35-6 in football Friday night.

Hobbton had a 14-0 lead in the second period when the Gators got on the board to make it 14-6. The Wildcats ran in another touchdown to make it 22-6 with the two-point conversion at the half. Hobbton scored another rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Will Blackmon hit the extra point to put Hobbton in the lead 29-6. Hobbton added another score in the fourth quarter to make it 35-6 in favor of the Wildcats.

Amir Tate led the Wildcats with 124 yards rushing on 13 carries with two touchdowns. QB Joe Corbett was 4-7 passing with 34 yards. Hobbton will host East Bladen (1-0, 4-1) in a Carolina Conference battle on Friday. Quarterback Dawson Crosby led the Gators with 43 yards passing and 54 yards rushing. East Columbus will host Union (2-2) on Sept. 26.
