Mother Charged After Children Access Meth

Two small children ingested methamphetamine allegedly left out by their mother, according to warrants.

Lisa Danielle Landreth, 33, was held without bond, according to detention center records. She is charged with misdemeanor child abuse. Records show her address as 71 Clint Dr., Whiteville and 7181 Rosindale Rd., Clarkton.

Warrants show that Landreth allegedly left methamphetamine out where the two children, whose ages were not released, could access the drugs.

The children tested positive for the drugs on July 8, the warrant said.

The sheriff’s office said staff at Columbus Regional contacted investigators after the children had been treated at the hospital. The children had been removed form the home by Social Services, the report said.

“During the investigation, detectives learned that two children had previously tested positive for methamphetamines while under the care of their mother,” the report said. “Evidence also indicated ongoing neglect and concerns for the children’s wellbeing while in her custody.”

Warrants also show that Landreth was arrested Aug. 21 in Bladen County after allegedly using pliers to damage security cameras at a home on Mercer Mill Road. She is scheduled to appear in Bladen County District Court on those charges in November.
