Theresa Joyce Scafuri Cribb, age 83, of Matawan, NJ (formerly of Whiteville), passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Theresa was born on July 15, 1942 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Samuel Scafuri and Ursula Sereno Scafuri. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Archie Prieston Cribb.
Theresa worked as an Administrative Secretary for the Singer Corporation at Rockefeller Plaza, NY. She also worked with the Lewis Sauls’ Law Firm and with B.B.&T. in Whiteville, NC. She loved to crochet and she donated many newborn hats to Columbus Regional Healthcare. She was always there for her family.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons; T.J. Jamison (Tawnya) of Arizona and Tony Jamison of Wilmington, NC, a daughter; Traci Strack (Robert) of Matawan, NJ, a step-daughter; Alexa Jackson (Dean) of Whiteville, NC, 10 grandchildren; Travis Blasco, Tyler Jamison, Trevor Jamison, Connor Jamison, Danie Soto, Lena Jackson, Zander Burton, Anna Jackson, Seth Jackson, and Ty Burton, 4 great grandchildren; Talon Jamison, Troy Jamison, T.J. Jamison, Adaline Burton and several nieces and nephews. Theresa and Archie were also surrogate grandparents to Alyssa and Camryn Cory.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at McKenzie Mortuary.
