
WBHS Vs. SCHS
DUBLIN– The West Bladen Knights stayed unbeaten in conference play by defeating the South Columbus Stallions 3-1 in volleyball.
The Knights’ win, moving them to 4-0 in the conference and 10-1 overall, sets up a showdown of leaders at Boiling Springs next week with South Brunswick (4-0, 8-4) on Tuesday.
The Knights started out slow losing the first set 19-25 before sweeping the next three 25-21, 25-12, and 25-19. The Knights were paced by Jaclyn Clark with seven kills. Natalee Sykes contributed 21 assists and Pope Greer had 20 assists. Emmy Bryant chipped in 11 digs for West Bladen. South Columbus fell to 2-2 in the conference and 6-9 overall.
They will host Whiteville (0-4, 1-10) Tuesday.
In JV, West Bladen defeated South Columbus in volleyball 2-1.
WCHS vs. UHS
CERRO GORDO — West Columbus defeated Union in volleyball 3-0 in Cerro Gordo Thursday.
The Vikings won by set scores of 29-27, 25-22, and 25-20. Centavia McKoy had seven kills for the Spartans (1-6, 2-12). West Columbus goes to 2-5 in the Carolina Conference and 2-9 overall. The Vikings go to Lakewood and Union will go to North Duplin on Tuesday.
