A joint operation between Columbus and Bladen deputies and Elizabethtown Police led to the arrest of an armed robbery suspect Monday.
Glenn Davis Bowen, 66, of 509 S. Lower St., was held under $100,000 secured bond, charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to detention center reports.
Deputies were called to the Family Dollar on Old Stage Road (N.C. 87) in Riegelwood Friday to a report of an armed robbery, the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. Investigators developed leads that led to Bowen as a potential suspect.
Working with Bladen Deputies and Elizabethtown Police, Bowen was taken into custody at his home without incident. The robbery was called an “isolated” incident.
Sheriff Bill Rogers thanked the other agencies for their assistance in the case.
