Two alleged dealers and two fugitives were jailed after early morning narcotics raids in Fair Bluff Thursday (today).
Ernest Lavon McLeod, 45; Anthony Jama Bethea, 35; Nieasha McLeod, 20; and Anthony Haynes, 59 were all taken into custody, Fair Bluff Police Chief Chris Chafin said in a press release.
“The operation marks the conclusion of the first phase of an ongoing, months long investigation,” the release said.

Law enforcement raided homes on Berry Street and Dead End West.
Ernest McLeod was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin and marijuana, and possession of a stolen vehicle. He was held without bond. His address was listed as 158 Berry Street.

Bethea was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin. His bond was set at $15,000. Detention Center records gave his address as 225 Dead End West Road.

Haynes was arrested on an outstanding warrant for simple assault, and held under $1,000 bond. His address was listed as 114 Pine St., Chadbourn.

Nieasha McLeod was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for simple assault. Her bond was set at $1,000. Her address was listed as 158 Berry St., Fair Bluff.
Assisting the operation were Chadbourn Police Department, Columbus County Emergency Services, Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, and Whiteville Fire Department, Chafin said.
“I would like to personally thank the Citizens of the Town of Fair Bluff for their support in cleaning up our streets,” Chafin said. “This effort would not be possible without the assistance of each and every honest, hardworking, member of this community. The goal and vision for the Fair Bluff Police Department is to help ensure that everyone that resides here or merely travels through the town be able to feel safe.
“With this in mind, taking these opiates, other dangerous drugs, and weapons off of the streets is our utmost concern. I would also like to personally thank the agencies that assisted with this operation, because without your support and assistance, this would not have been possible.”
Chafin also said the department will continue to aggressively pursue drug suspects.
“To the citizens of this fine town that think it is ok to spread this poison throughout our community, you are grossly mistaken if you think it is going unnoticed. This department, with the assistance of our neighboring partners, will continue to investigate complaints as they are fielded and don’t be surprised when we are giving you an early morning wakeup call next.”
