The man who shot four people in a Clarkton home in 2020, killing three, will spend the next 66 to 87 years in prison.
Taureen Reshaul Johnson, 41, was found guilty of three counts of first degree murder and one of attempted first degree murder, according to a release from the District Attorney’s Office. Johnson was found guilty and sentenced today (Oct. 9).
Johnson killed Katrice Lacole Murchison, 30; Ronnie Liebert Kelly, 27, and Guy Lennon Barden Jr. 60, in the February 2020 shooting. Hazel Epps, 69, was injured but survived by pretending to be dead.
Superior Court Judge Robert C. Roupe sentenced Johnson to three consecutive sentences of 273 to 340 months in prison, with no possibility of parole.
Evidence presented in the case showed that Johnson frequented the home where the shootings occurred. On the morning of the killings, he “knocked on the door and was allowed inside,” the press release said. He then opened fire, killing Murchison, Kelly and Barden.
The state was represented by Assistant District Attorney Michele Morton, Assistant District Attorney Amanda Traywick and Legal Assistant Kayla Wright.
