Large quantities of crystal methamphetamine were seized from a Chadbourn area man in a Bolton traffic stop Tuesday.
Gary Fernell Robinson Jr., 24, of 202 Jackson St., Chadbourn, was held without bond pending a first court appearance. He was charged with three counts of trafficking in meth, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver meth and marijuana, possession of heroin, resisting an officer, littering hazardous waste, drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substances in a jail, according to detention center records.
Members of the Special Operations Division, Vice Narcotics Investigators, and a K9 Officer participated in the arrest, according to a news release. Robinson was stopped in the Bolton area as part of an ongoing investigation, the release said.
He is alleged to have scattered narcotics on a ditchbank while trying to avoid being arrested, according to warrants. He was charged with having multiple large packets of methamphetamine in his possession when he was stopped by law enforcement.
When Robinson was being booked, warrants show he allegedly had one gram of heroin hidden on his person, resulting in the charge of possession in a jail.
