Here’s today’s Bottom Line

Our coastal storm continues to lift slowly north along the coast today. This will keep scattered to numerous showers over the area for today, mainly light rain but some embedded heavier showers are possible. It will also remain rather breezy at times.

Everything starts to taper off tonight as the low center gradually lifts toward the Outer Banks, before rapidly accelerating toward the Jersey coast by Monday. Breezy conditions are likely to persist Sunday night before things finally calm down and we see the sunshine on Monday.

Calm and dry conditions continue this week. The only feature to talk about is a dry cold front that pushes across the area late Tuesday into Wednesday. The frontal passage will be quite unremarkable; however, we will see cooler temps for the second half of the work week. Morning lows are likely to dip into the 40s early Friday and Saturday mornings.

TROPICS:  Poof… and tropical storm Jerry is a memory as of Saturday afternoon, defeated by hostile environmental conditions.

Another area is being monitored by the NHC in the eastern tropical Atlantic… a tropical wave has the odds at 30%/50% for development. Regardless of what happens with this, it will be another ocean-runner and no threat to the United States.

There are no tropical threats to the Carolinas for the foreseeable future.
