Here’s today’s Bottom Line
We’re finally DONE with the cloudy, dreary, damp weather across the region. A cold front is crossing the area as this report is being written, while two areas of low-pressure lift northeast to impact the northern mid-Atlantic and the northeast US. A couple of troughs will rotate across the area today keeping breezy conditions in here through this afternoon… but we’ll be dry with lots of sunshine.
High pressure builds in for real on Friday with blue sunny skies. As the high builds overhead Friday night, temperatures drop, drop, drop during trick-or-treat time … and ultimately settle in the upper 30s across the area early Saturday morning.
At least PATCHY FROST can be expected early Saturday. I don’t think we’ll see a widespread frost or freeze, but I’ll be better able to determine that by this time tomorrow.
High pressure remains locked in place well into next week with dry weather continuing.
TROPICS: Melissa has her pedal to the floorboards as she pushes north/east over the Atlantic. She’ll brush Bermuda with a very quick, glancing blow before cruising onto the upper latitudes.
There are no tropical threats to the Carolinas for the foreseeable future, and no other areas are being monitored at this time by the National Hurricane Center.
