Here’s today’s Bottom Line
After receiving a little over an inch of much-needed rainfall in Whiteville over the past few days, we return to a very quiet and sunny pattern today… lasting through the weekend.
High pressure of Canadian origin will extend down the Appalachians today, and eventually push to a point extending from Long Island to virtually overhead by the weekend. This results in sunny, blue skies by day and clear, cool nights.
Temps will run just a shade below seasonal normal values for the next few days, with highs generally in the mid to upper 70s. We’ll rise to the lower 80s by the weekend and into next week.
A coastal frontal boundary tries to take shape early next week, and if it does, that will bring a return to a low chance for showers. For now I’m going with a 30% chance with otherwise partly to mostly sunny skies. Plenty of time to fine-tune those details.
TROPICS: Poor Bermuda is going to take a direct strike from Hurricane Imelda… and Humberto is fading into just a remnant low. Otherwise there are no systems being actively monitored by the National Hurricane Center.
