West Columbus Crushes Green Sea Floyd, 48-14

GREEN SEA, S.C. — West Columbus crossed the state line Friday night and came back from South Carolina with a win, demolishing Green Sea Floyd 48-14.

The Trojan squad was in the game at the half, with the game tied 14-14. West Columbus scored two rushing touchdowns in the third quarter to open the game up 26-14. The Vikings added another rushing touchdown and a two-point conversion to expand the lead to 34-14 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Desmond Williams intercepted a Trojan pass at the 37 yard line, leading to the Vikings adding to their lead 42-14 with 6:54 left in the game. West Columbus ran it in again with just under a minute left to make the final score West Columbus 48, Green Sea Floyd 14.

DJ Graham had an outstanding game for the Vikings, going 14-16 passing with 347 yards in the air for four touchdowns. He also added 37 yards on the ground.

Desmond Williams produced four receptions for 145 yards to go with a touchdown and interception on defense. Santonio Vereen added four receptions with 136 yards. Jahan Lesane-Powell ran for two touchdowns on 14 carries with 52 yards rushing.

West Columbus will finish the regular season Friday when they host Union (0-5, 2-7). They are currently 1-4 in the Carolina Conference and 2-7 overall with a number 33 2A ranking. A win next week could decide whether the Vikings will host a first round game or go on the road.

Green Sea Floyd falls to 0-9 for the season. They will host Lake View (3-4) next Friday.
