There is no police record of an alleged incident between Whiteville Police and mayoral hopeful Brittany Payne, officials said today. In an Instagram reel, Payne claimed that she was harassed by a Whiteville Police officer after a fellow patron called 911 at the San Juan restaurant in June.
A man and woman from East Arcadia were jailed after they allegedly robbed a Rouse Lane man October 28, and left behind some of their loot. Deputies were called to Rouse Lane near Whiteville just after 11:30 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery. The report said Marshall Rouse told deputies Young entered his home and took his wallet, containing cash, credit cards and identification.
