The N.C. Yam Festival celebrated a banner year with 145 vendors and one of the largest crowds in the history of the festival, if not the largest.
We appreciate everyone taking part in the Yam Fest. From each person that entered one of the many contests, attended any event, came on Yam Fest Saturday, donated time and energy, resources, expertise, supported financially as a generous sponsor, Board Officer, served on the Board and/or as a Committee Chairperson, our manager, and supported in any manner … you are appreciated so much more than you could possibly fathom.
Huge kudos to our Tabor City town government! Thank you to our mayor, mouncil, and manager of the town of Tabor City for supporting the N.C. Yam Festival with all departments and needed resources.
A tremendous thank you to the Yam Fest Mascot, our Yam Man, “Tiger Tater”, and Yambassador Willow Lovette, for another year of support. Our Yam Fest Royal Court represents us well also.
There are so many more that could be called by name, but that list is like a small army. Just know you are so appreciated.
Even with everything going so well, there is always room for improvement. We have already been discussing areas to improve and how to best make that happen.

Next up for the Greater Tabor City Chamber of Commerce is the Fall Crawl to Shop Our Stores in Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29. On that same Saturday the chamber will also host their Annual Christmas Crafts Fair. More details in those events in the next column.

Remember that memberships must be renewed annually to remain a member continuously. The fees to join are kept to a minimal. They have only increased once in 30 years and that was by a mere $25.
We love sharing sales and other promotional information for our members. When calls come in for a particular type of business, service, or organization, we recommend our members and share the contact information to send them your way.
The days & hours of operation are Tuesday thru Thursday from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
