East Bladen Girls 56, Hobbton 11

ELIZABETHTOWN—East Bladen Girls scored the first 52 points of the game Thursday night, routing Hobbton 55-1 at home.

The Eagles jumped out on the Wildcats 35-0 in the first quarter, starting the continuous clock sportsmanship rule. The rule states a 35 point or more advantage at any time in a contest, the clock runs non-stop the remainder of the contest.

The Eagles pushed the advantage to 47-0 at the half. Hobbton scored their first points two minutes into the second half. The Eagles played their bench in cruising to the 55-11 victory.

Julia Flowers led the Eagles with 15 points. Ariel Cromartie pitched in 10 points for East Bladen, now 1-0 in the Carolina Conference and 8-1 on the season.

This was Hobbton’s first game of the season. The Wildcats (0-1, 0-1) will travel to Union (1-1, 5-3) on Dec. 22.
