Murder Charged in Sunday Incident

A Whiteville man has been charged in Sunday’s killing on Dudney Lane.

Williams Cody Inman, 28, is being held under no bond, charged with first degree murder and two counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property, according to detention center reports.

Inman is alleged to have shot and killed David Ray Ivey, 28, of 149 Dudney Lane. Deputies were called to the scene around 2:27 p.m., according to an incident report. A woman and child were in the home at the time.

The sheriff’s office is expected to release more information later today.
