No headlights led to drug charges for a Chadbourn suspect Tuesday.
Sherman Lee Campbell, 67, was held under a $45,000 secured bond, charged with trafficking in opiates, maintaining a vehicle for drug activity, resisting an officer, misdemeanor marijuana possession, and driving without headlights.
Chadbourn Police attempted to stop Campbell for driving with no headlights on South Brown Street, Chief Ken Elliot said in a press release, and Campbell jumped from his vehicle and fled into a wooded area. He was detained after a brief footchase and struggle.
Campbell was on probation at the time of his arrest, according to court records.
