Here’s today’s Bottom Line

This is going to be a short report, folks, because there just ain’t a whole lot to talk about.

A series of high pressure cells and dry cold fronts will move over the area through the weekend. Strong high pressure ridges in from the southwest for much of next week, leading to temps running quite a bit above seasonal normal values for the Christmas holiday.

Today will feature lots of sunshine and seasonable temps, generally in the upper 50s to around 60. High pressure will push a little farther off the coast tonight into Sunday, allowing warmer temps to push into the area. A cold front will stop by for a visit sometime Sunday afternoon, stopping at grandma’s house for a little Sunday dinner before progressing off the coast by Sunday night.

Colder air hitching a ride on Canadian high pressure builds in Sunday night through Monday with one day of below-normal temps. Monday’s going to be quite chilly with temps struggling to reach the 50-degree mark. Lows Monday night dip to the upper 20s before temps make a big turnaround on Tuesday.

Ridging high pressure will extend from the Gulf to the Great Lakes next week. The main low pressure/storm track will remain well to our north. Modeling doesn’t show it but sometimes we can get some backdoor cold fronts that drop through the area. I don’t foresee that happening as of now, and my forecast for the entirety of next week remains dry with temps going well above normal for Christmas.
