Whiteville 72, West Columbus 26
CERRO GORDO – Whiteville jumped out to a 20-5 start and never looked back in cruising to a 72-26 beating of West Columbus.
West Columbus started the second quarter with a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 20-11, which forced the Wolfpack to call a timeout. The Pack responded with a 10-0 run of their own to stretch the lead to 30-11. The Vikings folded after that, trailing 43-15 at the half. The Pack extended the lead to 62-22 at the end of the third quarter and finished the game witha 72-26 victory.
Whiteville, now 2-2 on the season, had three players in double figures. Ty’lae Rose led the Wolfpack with 13 points and six steals and Corey Faison contributed 12 points, eight assists, and five steals. Trayvionne Williams pitched in 11 points. The Wolfpack will host East Bladen (0-5) this Friday.
West Columbus (1-3) will travel to (2-2) Union today (Wednesday).

Whiteville Girls 53, West Columbus 25
CERRO GORDO – Whiteville girls fought off a tough Vikings team early to defeat West Columbus Tuesday night, 53-25.
The Vikings led 10-9 with 2:50 left in the first when the Wolfpack went on a 11-2 run into the second quarter to take a 20-12 advantage with 4:01 left in the second quarter. The Lady Vikings never recovered.
Whiteville took a 26-14 lead into halftime and stretched it to 40-18 at the end of the third period. The Wolfpack bench played the rest of the game to cruise to the 53-25 victory.
The Wolfpack moves to 1-4 on the season with the win. They will host East Bladen today (Wednesday).
West Columbus falls to 0-4 on the year. The Vikings will travel to Union today.
