Woman Eggs Bus Driver, CCSO Says

A Whiteville woman was jailed Monday after she allegedly boarded a school bus and egged the driver.

Celenia Vitanza, 41,  of 402 W. Williamson St., Whiteville was charged with simple assault and trespassing on a school bus, according to warrants. She was release don $1,000 secured bond.

Just before 8 a.m. Monday, Vitanza allegedly boarded the school bus while it was stopped in front of her residence, the report and warrant said. She reportedly blocked the door from closing, then threw eggs at  driver Schwanna Richardson. Some of the eggs also splattered inside the bus, according to the warrant.

Richardson nor the children on the bus were injured.

The sheriff’s office said the incident was isolated, and there was no further threat to the children of school staff.
