SALEMBURG—Ellen Battle scored 14 points as the East Bladen Eagles defeated Lakewood 43-28 in girls’ basketball Friday night. The Eagles (4-1, 13-2) led by as much as 22 points at the end of the third quarter, 35-13. Ariel Cromartie added 13 points in the win. Trinity Bell scored 11 points in the loss for the Leopards (3-2, 9-6).
East Bladen will host East Columbus (4-1, 8-4) today (Jan. 20). Lakewood will travel to North Duplin (5-0, 12-3) today.

LAKE WACCAMAW—East Columbus jumped out to a 43-2 lead at half on their way to a 70-6 rout of Hobbton Friday night.
Malia Graham led the Gators with 33 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as East Columbus moved to 4-1 in the Carolina Conference and 8-4 for the season. Skylah Collins added 13 points in the win.
East Columbus will travel to East Bladen (4-1, 13-2) today. Hobbton (0-5, 0-5) will host Union 1-4, 6-8).
South Columbus 32, Red Springs 31 in OT
RED SPRINGS—South Columbus squeezed by Red Springs Friday night 32-31 in overtime. South Columbus (1-1, 3-9) came from six points down in the fourth quarter to force the overtime.
Aliaya Locklear led the Red Devils (0-2, 2-11) with 10 points in the loss. South Columbus will host South Brunswick (2-0, 9-1) today. Red Springs will travel to West Bladen (0-2, 1-11) today.
