SALEMBURG—Keyshawn Kemp pumped in 26 points to lead the Eagles past Lakewood 74-62 on Friday night.
The Eagles move to 3-2 in the Carolina Conference and 3-11 on the season. Kemp was one of four players for East Bladen in double figures. Tevin McLean scored 16 points, Landyn Scott added 14, and Jaden Lewis contributed 10 points. East Bladen will host East Columbus (5-0, 5-6) today (Jan. 20).

DUBLIN—West Bladen held off a tough Fairmont squad to take home the victory Friday night 68-31.
Tyloik McCall led the Knights with 19 points while teammate Jackson Pait chipped in 12 points. Fairmont got 15 points from Xavion Pittman while teammate Jeremiah Morris chipped in 12 points. West Bladen (2-0, 10-5) will host Red Springs (1-1, 3-11) on Tuesday. Fairmont (1-1, 5-9) host Whiteville (0-2, 6-7) today.

BOILING SPRINGS—Whiteville rallied from 19 points down to South Brunswick to cut the lead to three only to fall short 60-56 Friday night.
The Pack trailed 45-36 with 7:06 left in the fourth quarter to rally to cut the Cougars lead to 54-51 with just under three minutes left in the game. South Brunswick (2-0, 10-4) hit their free throws down the stretch for the win. Edward Young led the Cougars with 21 points in the victory.
The Cougars travel to Tabor City to face South Columbus (0-2, 5-6) today.
Ty’Lae Rose led Whiteville with 17 points while Logan Little added 12 points in the loss. The Pack faced North Brunswick (10-4) in the MLK Classic in Red Springs on Saturday (see related story).
