East Bladen Boys 56, Union 35
ELIZABETHTOWN—Landyn Scott blistered the nets for 34 points including a school record 10 three-pointers as the Eagles crushed Union 56-35 Tuesday night in boys’ basketball.
The Eagles developed an eight-point lead early only to have the Spartans go on an 8-0 run to tie the game at 15-15 early in the second quarter. The Eagles regained the lead and took a 27-23 advantage into halftime.
East Bladen expanded the lead as Scott connected on four of his long-range bombs to expand the Eagles lead to 46-32 at the end of the third quarter. Union could not mount a comeback, as they could only muster three points in the final quarter.
East Bladen goes to 2-2 in the Carolina Conference and 2-10 overall with the victory. They will travel to Dublin to face West Bladen (8-5) in a non-conference tilt today (Jan. 14). Union (1-4, 3-9) will go to Midway (3-2, 6-10) in a conference matchup on Friday.

East Bladen Girls 61, Union 47
ELIZABETHOWN—Ariel Cromartie led the Eagles with 28 points as East Bladen defeated Union 61-47 Tuesday night in girls’ basketball.
The Eagles (3-1, 11-2) East Bladen led most the game but could not put away the pesky Spartans, who were led by Zadariyah Faison with 34 points. The game was tied 42-42 early in the fourth quarter before East Bladen put the game away with a 19-5 run. Sana’a Singletary pitched in 15 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.
The Eagles will travel to West Bladen (1-9) on Wednesday for a non-conference game with the Knights. Union (1-4, 5-8) travels to Midway (2-2, 3-7) on Friday for a Carolina Conference game.
