Some voters may have a new precinct number and/or polling location for the March primary.
“Your right to vote has not changed,” the Columbus County Board of Elections said in a social media post. “Only where you vote may have changed.”
Not all precincts will be affected. Officials consolidated some precincts due to staffing issues and low voter turnout.
The approved precinct merges and new polling locations include:
- P01A Bogue merged with P17 Welches Creek. The new Precinct is P117 Bogue Creek.
Polls will be at the Hallsboro Fire Department, 753 Hallsboro Rd. South, Hallsboro
- P34 Bug Hill merged with P513 Nakina. The new precinct is P534 Nakina Hill. The polling place will be at Nakina Fire and Rescue Department, 214 Ramsey Ford Rd, Nakina.
- P112 Lees SE merged with P111 N Lees, forming P121 Lees. Voting will take place at the Old Dock Community Building, 12820 New Britton Hwy E., Nakina.
