ELIZABETHTOWN—West Columbus went on a 9-3 run to defeat East Bladen Thursday night in boys’ basketball. The game was one of several make-up games scheduled after last week’s winter storm.
East Bladen (5-4, 5-14) held the lead 48-47 with over four minutes to play but the Vikings defense made a couple of stops and went on a 6-0 run and never looked back. Larry Graham led the Vikings with 25 points while teammate Zion Eady added 16 points.
West Columbus moves to 7-3 in the Carolina Conference and 9-11 on the season. West Columbus hosted Hobbton (3-5, 5-11) on Feb. 6 (See related story). Keyshawn Kemp and Tevin McLean had 17 points each for the Eagles. East Bladen traveled to Union (2-7, 4-14) on Friday.

West Bladen 79 Fairmont 57
FAIRMONT—West Bladen jumped on Fairmont with a 12-2 run to start the game and never looked back on their way to a 79-57 victory Thursday night. That game was also rescheduled due to the winter storm.
West Bladen now leads the Southeastern Conference with a 7-0 record and 16-5 overall.
The Knights were never challenged. West Bladen took a commanding 46-24 lead over the Tornadoes at the half. The Tornadoes fall to 4-3 in the conference and 8-12 on the season. Jackson Pait led four scorers in double figures with 19 points.
The Knights travelled to Red Springs (1-6, 3-16) on Friday. Jeremiah Morris led the Tornadoes with 14 points. Fairmont is going to Whiteville (3-3, 9-9). See related story.

TABOR CITY—South Columbus defeated Red Springs 60-31 in basketball Thursday night. The Red Devils have now lost six games in a row. The Stallions (1-6, 6-11) travelled to South Brunswick (4-2, 12-6) on Friday in a Southeastern Conference match. Red Springs (1-6, 3-16) hosted West Bladen (7-0, 16-5). See related story.
