Chadbourn Police dealt with some of the heaviest snow accumulations in the county during a busy weekend.
From Saturday through Monday, CPD helped three motorists get home after they were stranded in deep snow, and drove one resident a ride to the warming shelter in Whiteville. They also assisted with three EMS calls, according to a post on social media.
Police also had their routine patrol activities – 11 business checks, two alarms, three traffic stops for speeding in unsafe conditions, and one domestic violence call.
CPD also escorted a veteran from his home to Worthington Funeral Home.
“Seeing Columbus County residents step up to help their neighbors while we handled our calls was truly humbling,” the department said in a Facebook post. “People across the county jumped in wherever they could, and we’re grateful for that support.”
